Inspired by Singapore’s city of villages, Strait Lights is a luxury design studio creating unique products to elevate everyday life and celebrate the place we call home

Made slowly by hand, our products are filled with soul and subtle details. Everything we create is intended to impart wonder, a sense of quality, and the quiet but evocative message of belonging.

Our hand poured candles are made with the highest quality ingredients. The minimalist style of our vessels is inspired by Singapore architecture, with white ceramic walls and black features. We use 100% botanical wax with absolutely no paraffin or other additives. Our bespoke Singapore scents are free from phthalates, parabens and other hazardous chemicals that are commonly found in candles. This means that our scents, infused with essential oils, create an opulent aromatic that not only smells good but is safe in your sanctuary.

We like to create magic and believe in quality over quantity so we pour our candles in small batches, once a month numbering the edition of each candle in the enclosed booklet.

Tiong Bahru VANILLA + TEA
Tiong Bahru is the epitome of timeless style. With its perfectly preserved art deco architecture and ethereal map of weaving five-foot ways, it effortlessly sits at the intersection of classic and cool. Home to arguably the best bakeries in Singapore, this candle is café chic with delectably comforting vanilla balanced with crisp green tea.
In the home, Tiong Bahru brings a dose of warmth and love. The kinda love that is experienced from a fresh buttery croissant, flowing conversations with likeminded people or the knowledge that you live in one of Singapore’s most enchanting villages.

Not only does the Tiong Bahru dwell at the convergence of class and cool, so does the woman who crafted this bespoke scent. Chantal Travers owns Emperor’s Attic, the destination for hand-crafted antique, vintage and reproduction Chinese furniture and home decor. Hailing from South London she now spends her days in Tiong Bahru, curating furniture and homewares for some of the chicest abodes on the island. She is also a masterful mahjong player and can often be found chilling in nature.

Orchard PERSIAN ROSE + MOSS

Orchard is classic Singapore, where the old world charm of Emerald Hill sits juxtaposed against famously futuristic-looking malls. Just like a swan sitting gracefully on lake, it’s underneath where all the action happens. Day or night, the underground maze is constantly buzzing with an energy that only bright lights and city sights can garner. The beauty of Orchard lies in its contradictions. Embodying this, we have paired classic rose anchored by a deep moss to encapsulate the balance of feminine and masculine, new and old, chic and cultural.

Tanglin LEMONGRASS + BAMBOO
Escape from the pace of everyday life. This luxe botanical is like a morning walk through the gardens with soft florals unfolding in a jungle of green. With notes of energising citrus and lemongrass grounded by ancient pine, this candle will transport you to the ritual of jungle bathing, qi gong at the lake or sunset picnics with your favourite people. In the home, Tanglin brings a restorative calm into your space.

In the home, our East Coast candle brings an intoxicating scent of rich and spicy Amber, enveloped in the lightness of marine salt lingering on fresh air.
